A former prestigious restaurant

The once flourishing “downtown” of Inami. KIN-NAKA was the most prestigious of the 15 traditional Japanese restaurants that lined these streets. Surviving the many historic fires that spread through the area over the years, this classic establishment has been newly renovated in the modern era of Reiwa. In collaboration with woodcarver Daichi Maekawa, we have adopted the essence of its dramatic history and added various features throughout the villa so that guests can bask in the luster of history while fully experiencing the beauty of modern craftwork.

Wood carver

Daichi Maekawa served as an assistant to contemporary artist Hanayo in Berlin, Germany from 2001, and has studied wood carving under Masaji Maekawa since 2005. His works have been exhibited at Inami Art Museum and Fukumitsu Art Museum.
